- WEEK FIVE WINNER: Robert Behnken. In another week without a 6-0, Robert took home the weekly prize with his 5-0-1 record. Four others finished half a game back at 5-1.
- The group and lock winning percentages were awful: 40.7% and 38.8%, respectively.
- In a season full of bad weeks, this one was by far the worst. It’s the worst week we’ve seen since Week 9 of 2019.
- It’s now been five straight weeks that the lock winning percentage was worse than the overall.
- For the fourth time in five weeks, the 0-6’s outpaced the 6-0’s. This time it was by a margin of 6 to 0.
- Earlier this year I told you that we’d had at least one person go 6-0 every week since Week 6 of 2016. Week one broke that streak. We’ve now seen it twice in five weeks.
- So far this year, we’ve had 1919 submissions and only 13 people go 6-0. That equates to odds of 148:1. To put it into perspective, Vegas will only pay you 40:1 for a six game parlay.
- The yearly total for 100+ point performances is 106, after only having 5 last week. Only 5! Through Week 5 of 2019, we’d had 333 people score 100+ points. In fact, 112 people scored 100+ points in Week 5 alone.
- Kevin Manning has taken over the top spot in the rankings.
- Another example of the poor start to the season: This year, 400 points is good enough for 12th place, Through Week 5 of 2019, you would’ve been in 61st place.
- Robert Cowart has defeated the odds by going 0-6 in back-to-back weeks. His winless streak actually extends into Week 3 and currently sits at 14 in a row. Let’s all take a moment of silence for our poor friend Robert.
- In brighter news, Cody Miller has put together a streak of three consecutive 100 point weeks. He was in 371st place after two weeks. He is now in 44th place.
- We are down to four people with a perfect lock record. Three people are only half a game back at 4-0-1.
- 13 people have an 0-5 lock record.
- The three most popular picks of the week (Arkansas, Texas and Notre Dame) were 0-2-1 ATS.
- The group’s favorite six picks only went 1-4-1.
- For the year, the 75% majority is only 6-15-3. In other words: when 75% of the picks are on one side, you want to be on the other.
- The TCU vs Texas game saw the highest number of locks (64 for Texas) and the lowest number of locks (0 for TCU), so naturally it ended in a push.
- Only two underdogs received more locks than the favorites (Arkansas and Notre Dame). They both failed to cover.
- Texas Tech was the least popular pick of the week, only receiving the trust of 10 people. They upset West Virginia.
