WEEK EIGHT RESULTS

  • WEEK EIGHT WINNER:  Mike Stovall.  Like last week, we had another 8 people go 6-0. Mike (aka my Dad) went 6-0 for the 2nd time in 3 weeks. This time, his point total was high enough to claim the weekly prize.
  • The group and lock winning percentages continue to roll: 53.9% and 52.1%, respectively.
  • The group winning percentage has been above .500 for five consecutive weeks!
  • Despite the good week, we still had eight people go 0-6.
  • The home team was favored in 13 of the 15 Week 7 matchups. Oklahoma State and Memphis were the only home underdogs. OSU won and covered. Memphis did not.
  • Favored teams were 9-6 ATS, running the winning record streak to 5 in a row.
  • Home teams had their first losing week since Week 3.
  • Home underdogs have not had a winning week since week one.
  • The group majority went 11-4 ATS!
  • 68 people scored 100+ points, which is the 2nd highest total of the year.
  • OU was easily the most popular pick of the week. They received 266 picks and 86 locks. The 86 locks only trail the 121 locks Colorado received in Week 2. OU was able to escape the game with a win, but they failed to cover the spread.
  • After OU, the next 3 most popular picks (Missouri, Ohio State and KSU) all covered the spread.
  • Kansas State was the first team to earn maximum bonus points since South Alabama in Week 3.
  • 4 underdogs received more picks than the favorite (Tennessee, OSU, Utah and Miami). Tennessee was the only team that didn’t cover.
  • Derek Holland currently occupies the top spot on the leaderboard.
  • Only 14 points separate 1st place from 6th place.
  • After Week 5, Mike Stovall was in 341st place. He is now in 26th.
  • 377 people are currently at a pace of 60+ points per week.
  • We are down to just five people with a perfect lock record. Two others are 6-0-1.
  • And then there was one. Nick M is the only person with a perfect 8-0 lock record. Michael Wang is 1/2 game back at 7-0-1. 19 people are at 7-1.
  • Derek Holland was the only #1 seed to win the first round of the bracket
  • Katherine Taber won her matchup despite only scoring 20 points. Her opponent forgot to make picks.
  • On the other end of the spectrum: Josh Fuhrman lost to Chris Kinard despite scoring 104 points.
