WEEK FOURTEEN RESULTS

  • WEEK FOURTEEN WINNER:  Michael Patton.  Mic drop, meet Michael Patton. Michael entered the week in 1st place. That wasn’t enough. He proceeded to win the weekly award by dropping 131 points on the group and running away with the PP6 championship.
  • The overall and lock winning percentages were pretty terrible: 43.2% and 33.1%, respectively.
  • Michael Patton was the only person to go 6-0. Yeah, I know.
  • Seven people went 0-6. For the year, the 0-6s outpaced the 6-0s by a margin of 62 to 52.
  • Michael Patton was 80 points clear of 2nd place. Its the biggest margin of victory since Chad Akers win in 2013. He was 95 points clear of 2nd.
  • Michael had a winning percentage of 67.9%, which is the 2nd highest total in PP6 history. Its second only to Chad Capra’s 60-28-2 (68.2%) performance from 2019.
  • Three people jumped into the Top Ten in the final week: Casey Noonan, Tony Juan and Austin Browning.
  • Casey Noonan finished in 6th place despite a 4-10 lock record.
  • Matt George was inches away from cracking the Top Ten, despite entering the week in 52nd place.
  • The final gap between 1st place and 10th place was 183 points, which equals the gap between 10th place and 185th place!
  • Dusty Weatherly finished the season with a lock record of 12-1-1. Michael Patton finished 2nd at 12-2. Garrett Green and Chelsie were tied for 3rd at 11-3.
  • Tyler H finished 1-12-1 on his locks. The OG was 1-11-1.
  • Jake Bergmann won the “Best Finish” with a record of 18-6 (385 points). Matt George was right behind him at 17-7.
  • The group majority went 6-5 ATS, despite an overall winning percentage of just 48.5%.
  • Home underdogs were 2-0 ATS. For the year, they won 62.7% of the time.
  • The most popular picks of the week (Georgia, Oklahoma State and Houston) were ATS losers.
  • Alabama vs Georgia was the most popular game of the week and the most popular game of the year (partly because the options were limited to 11 games). Alabama upset Georgia to win the SEC title.
  • Oklahoma State was the most popular lock of the week and most popular lock of the year. They lost outright to Baylor.
  • Not much of a surprise here, but NIU vs Kent State was the least popular game of the year. Only 61 people picked a side in the game. NIU won the game as an underdog.
  • Dusty Weatherly defeated Brad Knowles for the Bracket championship.

WEEK THIRTEEN RESULTS

  • WEEK THIRTEEN WINNER:  John Eanes.  Only two people went 6-0: John Eanes and Jake Bergmann. Jake was left on the outside looking in, as John outscored him by two.
  • The overall and lock winning percentages were average 50.2% and 48.9%, respectively.
  • For the first time this year, nobody went 0-6. Good work, team.
  • Michael Patton finds himself back in 1st place with just one week to go.
  • Iven Stevenson is the only person in the Top Ten with a losing lock record.
  • Six people in the Top Ten scored 100+ points in Week 12.
  • 37 points separate 10th place from 20th place.
  • Dusty Weatherly has run his lock record to 12-0-1. Since he is 1.5 games ahead of 2nd, he has already locked up the lock race. Congratulations, Dusty!
  • Michael Patton and Chelsie D are tied for second at 11-2.
  • Tyler H is now 0-12-1 on his locks. The OG is 1-10-1 and 4 others are 2-11.
  • Jake Bergmann didn’t quite win the week, but he is leading the “Best Finish”. He is 15-3 going into the last week.
  • Bryan Bottoms has had a rollercoaster of a season. He’s had four 100 points weeks and three 20 point weeks.
  • The group majority went 9-5-1 ATS in a week that favorites only went 4-10-1. Interesting stat, especially considering the group majority only picked an underdog in 5 of the 15 games. Explanation? See below.
  • The group majority picked an underdog in five games. They were 5-0 ATS in those games.
  • The Michigan vs Ohio State game was the most popular game of the week and the most popular game of the year. It was also the most watched football game of the year. Michigan won outright as an underdog.
  • The most locked game was Bedlam. 80 people locked the game. 54 picks for OSU. 26 for OU. The game ended in a push.
  • The least popular game of the week was an ACC matchup. For the year, the ACC has had the least popular game 6 times. The PAC-12 is in second with 5. Of the five PAC-12 games. USC was involved in 4 of those….I don’t see their popularity increasing anytime soon for many cfb fans around here.
  • 9 of the 15 games earned bonus points. Kentucky earned maximum bonus points in their rout of Louisville.
  • Home underdogs went 6-3 ATS, which makes them 44-27-2 for the year. The 61.6% winning percentage would be good enough for 4th place in the rankings.
  • Dusty Weatherly and Brad Knowles will face each other in the bracket finals. In the overall standings, they are 43rd and 59th, respectively.

WEEK TWELVE RESULTS

  • WEEK TWELVE WINNER:  Carolyn Beins.  Carolyn went 6-0 and earned maximum bonus points with her lock. That’s a good way to win the week, which she did. Her 131 points were the 2nd most scored this year.
  • The overall and lock winning percentages were pretty good: 53.8% and 63.8%, respectively.
  • Week Eleven was the second best week of the year by almost all categories: winning percentage, lock winning percentage, average score and 100+ points.
  • Despite it being a good week, the group majority only went 6-9 ATS.
  • Jacob Harbaugh has been hanging out near the top of the leaderboard for most of the year. He finally inched his way into the top overall spot. He currently sits 4 points clear of John Mellish.
  • Four people climbed into the Top Ten from outside the Top 20.
  • Six people in the Top Ten scored 100+ points in Week 12.
  • Only 25 points separate 10th place from 20th place.
  • 43 people have at least 40 wins. 67 people have at least 40 losses.
  • Dusty Weatherly has a 11-0-1 lock record. He left no doubt this week by going 6-0.
  • Tyler H is still looking for his first lock win. I don’t know the odds of going 0-12, but its not good.
  • Myron Martin is 10-2 on his locks, but he is only 28-44 overall. That means 36% of his wins are from his locks.
  • The three most popular picks of the week (Baylor, OSU and OU) were all ATS winners.
  • Those three schools accounted for 42% of the locks.
  • Favorites were 9-6 ATS, which pushes their yearly total over 50%.
  • 5 underdogs received the majority of the picks. Baylor was the only one to cover the spread.
  • Ohio State and Notre Dame both earned maximum bonus points.
  • 10 of the 15 games earned bonus points, which tied Week Two for the highest total of the year.
  • We are down to the Final Four in the bracket: Dusty Weatherly, Steve Baker, Brad Knowles and Shannon W. They all scored at least 87 points to advance.

WEEK ELEVEN RESULTS

  • WEEK ELEVEN WINNER:  Elizabeth Kreeb.  For the second straight week, we only had one person go 6-0. This time, it was my sister. Last week, my brother-in-law. Something fishy is going on here.
  • The overall and lock winning percentages were bad again: 47.2% and 44.2%, respectively.
  • Despite a below average winning percentage, the average score was 60 points, thanks to OSU’s blowout win over TCU.
  • For the 6th time this year, the 0-6s outnumbered the 6-0s.
  • John Mellish held onto the top spot in the rankings. He only has a 17 point lead over 2nd and 3rd place, but he as an 87 point lead over 4th place.
  • The gap between 1st place and 10th place (122 points) is the same as the gap between 10th place and 129th!
  • Dusty Weatherly has a 10-0-1 lock record. Corey Vernon is right behind him at 9-1-1. Five others are 9-2.
  • We have 4 people in the Top Ten with a losing lock record.
  • Oklahoma was easily the most popular pick of the week: 173 picks overall, with 67 of those being locks. The 67 locks were double that of the next closest (OSU with 33 lock). OU lost the game outright.
  • Purdue was the 2nd most popular pick of the week and easily the most popular lock. They failed to cover the spread against Ohio State.
  • Only 26% of the locks went for the underdog. Of those, 27% went for Purdue.
  • For the first time since Week 5, we had a maximum bonus point game. Oklahoma State hammered TCU.
  • For only 2nd time this year, we had a week without a game that was worth 23 points.
  • The Washington State vs Oregon game ended in a push. It was the 4th occurrence of the year, and the first one since Week 5. Nine people have picked a side in each of the 4 games.
  • Not a single person locked either Maryland or Virginia. Wise decision. Neither one of them covered.
  • Home underdogs continued their winning ways. They went 5-3 this week.
  • Double-digit home favorites were 3-0-1.
  • In the bracket, Alan S was the lowest scoring participant to advance. He scored 35 points.
  • Pete Knopp was the highest scoring participant to be knocked out. He scored 82 points.

WEEK TEN RESULTS

  • WEEK TEN WINNER:  Jon Taber.  He was the only person to go 6-0, and he did it in a week when the average score was the second worst of the season.
  • The overall and lock winning percentages were bad: 43.0% and 42.8%, respectively.
  • It was the 2nd worst week of the year by winning percentage, average score and total number of people to score 100+ points.
  • With the 0-6s outnumbering the 6-0s by a 9 to 1 margin, they have taken back the lead for the year, 49 to 42.
  • John Mellish is back in 1st place.
  • We have three new faces in the Top Ten, which means we had to say goodbye to a few. John Vollbrecht had the roughest week. He slipped from 10th to 29th. Kathy Butler and Mary Stovall (sisters, by the way) joined the Top Ten alongside Garrett Green.
  • Dusty Weatherly keeps on winning his locks. It was his only win in Week 10. He has a 9-0-1 record now. Tyler H is 0-10. Yikes.
  • Last week, I recognized Chad Bradley for having the most losses for the year. He responded with a 5-1 week. Jason Kurien now has the dubious distinction with is 20-40 record.
  • The top 6 most popular picks were only 1-5 ATS. Oklahoma State was the only team to cover.
  • Baylor was picked by 208 people, making them the most popular pick of the year, surpassing the 206 picks Arkansas received against Georgia in Week 5. They lost the game outright against TCU…..Arkansas didn’t cover either.
  • Wake Forest and Navy were the only two underdogs to receive the majority of the picks. Neither one of them covered the spread.
  • When a team receives +75% of the picks, they are only covering at a rate of 40%.
  • Only 62 people picked a side in the USC vs ASU game, which makes it the least popular game of the year, surpassing the 65 pick total from last week. Its the 4th time this year that USC has been involved in the least popular game of the week.
  • John Vollbrecht and Brandon Yowell were matched up against each other in the bracket. They went a combined 1-11. Congratulations on your win, John?
